DTJ,
Four notable companies announced funding rounds last week, with implications for job seekers in defense:
On Tuesday, ASI (formerly Air Space Intelligence) raised a $325M Series C at a $3B valuation, led by Spark Capital. ASI’s AI predicts and plans complex operations: air traffic, power grids, and military command. It has an $875M FAA contract and a $99M Army contract for Next Generation Command and Control. ASI has 32 open roles on their careers page.
On Thursday, Xona Space Systems raised a $250M Series D at a $2.45B valuation, led by Future Ventures. Xona builds Pulsar, a navigation network in low Earth orbit. It launched six more satellites last week, and four of them will serve customers in 2027. Xona has 54 open roles.
Also on Thursday, Warhound launched with a $200M seed at a $1.2B valuation. Backers include Sequoia, In-Q-Tel, and 8VC. Warhound plans to breed working dogs for the military and first responders, and pair them with gear from Anduril. No jobs yet…
On Friday, Arda Industries came out of stealth with $232M: a $160M Series A at a $1.5B valuation, co-led by Altimeter, Accel, and Khosla, plus a $72M seed. Arda’s software turns a CAD design into assembly-line instructions, and updates them when the design changes. Anduril is its first customer. No jobs just yet… but a stacked team.
Now, onto the jobs…
