Two big fundraising announcements this week with jobs implications:
On Tuesday, Ursa Major agreed to go public through a SPAC merger with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. III at a post-deal value of about $2.3B, with at least $350M in PIPE commitments and roughly $110M funded at signing. The money is going to be used to turn the Galeton, Colorado test site into a large-scale solid rocket motor production campus. The company already runs six facilities and about 360 people on nearly 500 acres. (100 Open Jobs)
Two days later, Regent closed a $240M Series B — half equity, half debt — co-led by Mare Liberum and AE Ventures (with Founders Fund, Caffeinated Capital, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Japan Airlines, and Giant Step Capital returning). That takes Regent to $340M total. This goes to: the first human flight of the Viceroy seaglider, manufacturing at the Rhode Island plant, and the unmanned Squire.(18 open roles)
