Thank you to so many of you who graciously signed up to speak with me about your conference experience over the past week. An unintended benefit of that process is I got to meet a ton of you - and you’re doing COOL THINGS! Got me fired up about the quality of human who shows up to build in the national interest.

Which leads me to a message I’ve shared with many of you:

You should delete this email.

I’m serious.

The “job search” is no more about applying to open jobs than the “government contracting” game is about responding to RFPs, or the “dating game” is about swiping on your app.

I got news for ya fam - when you want something, you’ve got to GO GET IT.

Your favorite company hasn’t posted an opening in BD?

Go interview 10 prospective customers for the product, and figure out their pain, how the product fits their needs, and what it would take to run a pilot.

Your dream company doesn’t think they need marketing?

Go prototype the brand awareness campaign of your dreams in Figma, and ship it (to the company).

Don’t wait for the bat signal.

Solve the pain they don’t know they have.

Job apps aren’t for the weak. They aren’t for the lazy.

They take take and energy and “giving a S**T.”

Trust me, that time that will be a heck of a lot better spent than changing the name after “Dear” on your cover letter for the 98th time and praying for a different outcome.

In short, be someone they can’t live without.

Make yourself undeniable.

But to get a sense of what’s out there right now, and what skills you’ll need to hammer home in your new high-energy job search…
