Hello Readers,
We’re Morgan and Noah.1 Thank you for subscribing to Defense Tech Jobs 🚀!
We believe there’s no substitute for working on hard problems in service of a meaningful mission, and believe no mission is more critical than defense. We started Defense Tech Jobs (DTJ) because we know it can be hard to break into the industry, and non-engineering roles can be hard to come by. We've been there! DTJ is designed to help operators like you find exciting, impactful opportunities in the world of defense tech. DTJ is the job board for the defense ecosystem.
Rather than include every job in the industry, this newsletter will offer a curated selection of the most exciting roles at the most interesting companies. We want to make this useful to you, so please reach out and let us know how we can help in your search. If you’re hiring, submit a job to be featured in our next newsletter.
Now let’s get to it!
⭐️ Featured Company - Vannevar Labs
Our inaugural featured company is Vannevar Labs. We got a chance to catch up with Brett Granberg, CEO and Co-Founder of Vannevar Labs:
What does Vannevar Labs do? We build software for great power competition. The capabilities needed for missions in Europe and Asia right now are different than what DoD has access to. The defense primes are not able to build what’s needed. We can, and our products are deployed on these mission across a couple dozen groups in DoD.
Why is Vannevar Labs' mission important to national security? It is not a given that the people we ask to put themselves in harm’s way receive the support they deserve, especially with defense technology. We started Vannevar to make sure we always have the best engineers and product people in the US building for these missions.
What makes Vannevar Labs' culture exceptional? We orient around mission, and you feel this on the team. Great people can work anywhere. People that join Vannevar usually are here because they want to make a dent in national security. We also believe that ego is not an asset in startups and protect this with interviews and by letting people go who aren’t a good fit. When we’re at our best, it’s a special place to work.
